Liturgical Ministries Description
Liturgy comes from the Greek word leitourgia which means "the work of the people”. Here at the UCC it is this work of our students and staff that make worship such a vital and integral part of campus life. Whether you choose to participate as an Usher, Sacristan, Eucharistic Minister, Lector or Musician, every person is called to contribute to the liturgy in a manner suited to his or her talents.
In addition to our Sunday Mass, we also plan for daily Mass, Adoration and Reconciliation Services. Some of our bigger events include Mass on the Grass, Ash Wednesday and Holy Week.
The main function of our Music Ministry is to sing at the liturgies. Music also plans Taize’, Praise and Worship services and the annual Christmas Concert. Also popular is our Coffee House event where many of our students share their individual musical and dance talents.
We welcome you to share your gifts with our ministry and for the benefit of our UCC at UCLA community.
