I’m Kevin Ceballos, and welcome to the UCC! I hope you will come to love the UCC as much as I do! This year, I am honored and excited to be serving as one of the co-leaders for the Social Justice Committee, along with my wonderful co-leader, Alondra!!
I am a third-year Psychobiology major and Film and Television Studies minor and come from Loma Linda, California in the Inland Empire. Aside from my time at the UCC, I am an officer for Bruins Fighting Pediatric Cancer, volunteer in the pediatric oncology unit at UCLA Mattel Children’s Hospital, and am a research assistant for the Children’s Friendship Program at UCLA.
During this year as a Social Justice Leader, I want to walk with you wherever you are in life. I hope to foster an environment that is not only open to growth and development but also full of acceptance and love. What I enjoy most about being Catholic is living out my faith through my actions, which is completed best through Catholic social teaching. While I love social justice as a whole, I am especially drawn towards advocating for marginalized and vulnerable groups, including but not limited to refugees, immigrants, and the LGBTQ+ communities. Social justice encompasses a wide range of issues, and I hope I can bring attention to some of the injustices our world faces, as well as learn for myself along the way.
PLEASE come talk to me about anything! Whether it is UCC related or not, I would love to spark a conversation with you! If you want to let me know about something related to the UCC, social justice or have any questions in general, my email is email@example.com. I am always open to learning about something new. 🙂
