Sister Jeanette Kong, VDMF

Campus Minister/Vocation Director

jeanetteSr. Jeanette Kong, VDMF is a M.Div. graduate from the Jesuit School of Theology at Santa Clara University and holds a degree in economics from the National University of Singapore. Originally from Singapore, she has lived in the Bay Area and Long Beach, CA the past 11 years. As a Verbum Dei missionary sister, she has been active in a variety of ministries aimed at pastoral care spiritual accompaniment, and retreat-work in Long Beach, the San Francisco Bay Area, Singapore, the Philippines and China. In the past year, she taught Junior High students at a Catholic School in Long Beach. Her greatest joy of being a part of the campus ministry team at UCLA now is the journeying with students in the unfolding of their spiritual life. Hired through a generous grant from the Hilton Foundation along with another Sister at USC, both Sisters will be involved in vocational discernment ministry with young adult college women. On or off campus, she enjoys a perfect cup of (strong) coffee, is known to have (near) perfect pitch, and enjoys spaces where creative expression can flourish.
