As we prepare to re-open the UCC chapel, we understand that our Eucharistic celebration is going to be different because of the CDC and ADLA guidelines. Nonetheless, Christ who has always been steadfastly present to us during this pandemic, will remain with us as we celebrate mass together.
We are preparing to meet the requirements for re-opening with our first priority, the safety of everyone.
(1) We have submitted our written plan to the regional bishop.
(2) We have ordered cleaning and sanitizing products; and
(3) will be gathering in the next few weeks to train volunteers to perform essential required functions.
Therefore, we are planning
to resume Sunday public masses soon. We will share information about the mass schedule, how we will gather, and what you need to know to be able participate in-person. So, check our webpage and social media for information.
Remember, physical distancing, face masks and gloves need to be worn, health screenings and tracing will make our gathering feel different while in the building and chapel, but the Spirit is with us. There will also be a designated entrance and one exit for the building. The parking garage will be limited parking so please plan to park on the street.
We are developing a signup system which you may access online at (
reopen.church) for mass attendance as we are limited to 35 persons including ministers and ushers. Each week we will be sending a link via social media to reserve your seat using this option powered by our new communication program, Breeze. You must register for a seat. Also, remember that the obligation to attend Sunday mass will continue to be suspended for the duration of the pandemic per Archbishop Gomez. You may attend a live streamed mass anywhere online.
